![]() ![]() Please contact the Information Systems Service Desk if you do not see the Code42 (CrashPlan) icon in your system tray (Windows - bottom right) or menu bar (Mac - top right). If your computer is not registered with SCCM or Jamf, Code42 (CrashPlan) will not be automatically installed. The installation of Code42 (CrashPlan) is automatically pushed out to all faculty and staff computers on the Wake Forest domain. The Wake Forest University version of Code42 (CrashPlan) is available at no charge to all faculty and staff, not including the Medical Center. Your data is automatically backed up on a periodic basis and can be recovered easily in the event of computer failure other data access needs. For questions regarding Code42, please check the Knowledge Base link below or contact access is provided to Davidson College faculty and staff at no cost.Code42 (CrashPlan) is an automated online backup solution for data stored on your primary WFU-issued computer. → Code42 is installed and configured for the primary users of office computers deployed by T&I, during the initial delivery and setup process. ✓ Easing migration from an old workstation to a new one ✓ A hedge against inadvertent or regretted changes or deletions to files or file content ✓ Protecting against the loss of files if a computer crashes, is lost/stolen, or is severely compromised by viruses/malware ✓ In some cases it is also used to back up faculty research computers. ✓ Code42 is available for all faculty and staff who are primary users of office computers. Files that are stored in Dropbox or Google Drive are not backed up by Code42 those services also offer some protection against data loss but their versioning depth is not quite as extensive. This backup keeps multiple versions of user data files over time. Our primary method of backing up data files on Windows and macOS workstations is the Code42 cloud backup service (formerly known as CrashPlan). ![]()
